James Ward, Managing Director
James is managing director of the Hammer group of companies. James recently celebrated 25 years of service at Hammer, beginning his career as an account manager and progressing to him leading a management buyout of Hammer in 2005. Since then, James has driven the company's strategic expansion, resulting in a near 100% increase in turnover in the 10 years he has been at the helm.
Paul Matravers, Sales Director
Paul has been with Hammer since 1996 when he joined the sales team, working in various sales and sales management roles. In 2005 he was part of the management buyout team taking on the position of sales director. Since then has played an instrumental part in Hammer’s continuing growth and success.
Jason Beeson, Commercial Director
Jason has been with Hammer for 16 years. Joining as a business development manager he rapidly moved into sales management. Jason was part of the management buyout team in 2005 and subsequently became the solutions sales director and grew the enterprise business dramatically. He now holds the position of commercial director focusing on the vendor and business development functions within Hammer. Jason has a BA in Business Administration from the University of Western England and his early career included sales roles with other distributors as well as recruitment.
Jason Goddard, Director of Logistics
Jason joined Hammer in 1997 and has over 20 years' specialist purchasing and logistics experience. His responsibilities include overall control of the company's purchasing and operational procedures, including sales order processing, logistics and warehousing. As logistics manager, Jason was successful in developing more proactive stock management processes, increasing efficiencies and saving costs through a new worldwide freight forwarding contract and using long-term vendor relationships to maintain preferential supply and allocation of stock.
Matt Croucher LLB FCCA, Finance Director
Matt graduated from the University of Bristol with a degree in law in 2000 and took on a number of diverse financial roles in local government before embarking on a training contract with established accountancy practice J B Titchener & Co Ltd. Excelling through the ACCA accountancy qualifications and being designated as a prize winner, he achieved the highest mark internationally. Matt left the firm as an audit senior in 2005. Joining Hammer as finance manager in March of that year Matt went on to assume responsibility for the customer service department before being appointed to the board as finance director in 2014, taking ownership of all financial management across the group.
Paul Hickingbotham, Group Technical Director
Paul started his career at ADC Systems and joined Hammer in 2000 as solutions manager. He became group technical director in 2014. Paul is responsible for technical development and enablement of Hammer and Malleus Ltd businesses to support its value add to all channel partners, to extend their reach in provision of professional services, managed services and bespoke training and knowledge transfer.
Steve Cooper, General Manager - Enterprise Solutions
Steve has enjoyed a 20-year career in distribution, joining Hammer in 2013. Originally brought in to manage Dell, he now runs the enterprise business unit which encompasses Dell, our networking vendors and Seagate Cloud Systems & Electronic Solutions.
Steve Cowley, General Manager - Regional Offices
Steve began his Hammer career in 2001 as an account manager, after graduating from the University of Salford with a BA in Sports and Business Management. He then moved up the ranks within the organisation and has held the position of sales manager for the following divisions: volume, storage products, new business, Dell, and storage solutions. Benefitting from managerial experience of a plethora of teams and members of staff, Steve is now responsible for Hammer’s regional offices which are located in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Nordics.
Tom Cox, General Manager - Whitebox Servers
Tom has a firm foundation of knowledge of all aspects of the server and storage sales cycle. His experience began in 1997 as a computer engineer, before moving to IBM as a pre-sales and sales executive. He started working at Hammer as an account manager in 2005 and swiftly became a senior account manager, before being promoted to business development manager for Intel. His focus then broadened when he was made server business development manager, followed by a promotion to server sales manager, drawing on his field of specialism. As general manager for whitebox servers he now manages a team of three BDMs and two pre-sales specialists, and has built up a peerless understanding of connectivity, infrastructure and emerging whitebox markets.
Nick Powling, General Manager - Components
Nick has been with Hammer since 2004 and has held various business development roles within Hammer prior to becoming general manager for components in 2014. With over 20 years’ experience of working in the channel starting at Seagate, Nick has a proven track record in business development success within diverse channel sales environments and markets.
Caroline Easton DipM FCIM, Head of Marketing
Caroline joined Hammer in 2001 and has been responsible for the company’s marketing since then. Her business skills, competitiveness and creativity have fuelled her passion for marketing and driving customer experience into the heart of a company. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and was previously a regional board member and chair of the CIM Hampshire & IOW branch.
Phil Browne, Senior Sales Manager
After graduating from the University of Huddersfield in 2002, Phil joined Hammer as a telemarketer, moving into an account management sales role two years later. He progressed quickly through the account manager ranks before becoming sales manager in 2008. In 2014 he was appointed senior sales manager and is heavily involved in the recruitment of, and training for, new sales recruits.
Steve Patterson, Senior Sales Manager
Steve joined Hammer as a sales executive in July 1997 working his way up to senior account manager and premier account manager. In 2005 he became sales manager in Hammer’s storage products division before landing his current role in 2015 when the products and solutions teams merged.
Jonathan Ray, Sales Manager
Jonathan joined Hammer in 2003 as an account manager, after graduating with a degree in sports management from Brighton University. He rose to the position of premier account manager in record time, achieving the feat in just 14 months. He was then responsible for the consumer storage division from 2006-2008, followed by eight years in business development roles. In April 2016 he moved back into a sales management role.
Arn de Groot, Sales Manager - Netherlands
Having worked in the distribution channel for almost 18 years with Bell Microproducts, A112Mation and Techdata, Arn joined Hammer in 2011 as an account manager. He was appointed sales manager in January 2014.
Nadia Jockmans, Country Manager - Belgium, Luxembourg and France
Having worked in the Belgian IT distribution channel for more than 15 years as sales manager, Nadia joined Hammer in 2008 and opened the Belgian sales office. Due to her background in industrial and OEM sales, she was appointed manager European OEM & solution sales in 2014. Nadia was recently appointed as country manager and will also stay in charge of some of Hammer’s top European OEM customers.
Manfred Kamp, Office Manager - Germany
Manfred has worked in the distribution channel for more than 30 years, starting in 1985 at MCE in Munich/Ottobrunn where he stayed until 2005. He joined Hammer in 2014 after spells with Bell-Micro Germany, Avnet Germany and Littlebit/CH. His focus is on industrial, surveillance and integration sectors.
Daniel Söderström, Sales Manager - Nordics
Daniel has been working in technology sales for 10 years and joined Hammer as sales manager in May 2016 from an IT consultancy firm, where he held a similar role.
